Engels geboortegedicht: ‘Rock-a-bye-baby’

Vier Füße, groß bis mittelklein
gingen lange Zeit allein...
Jetzt gehen bald auf Schtitt und Tritt
zwei winzig kleine Füße mit

— ingezonden door Ron de Haan

Make believe this is the first day
Everything all brand new
Make believe that the sun is your own lucky
star
And then understand the kind of gift you are

He who set the stars in space
Came by this way today
He left a tiny bundle
Within our hearts to stay

He brought us a miracle
And from the very start
He gave us love unspeakable
Boundless love within our heart

What began as only two of us
For all the world to see
By the miracle of adoption
We became a family!

You are the sunshine of my life
That's why I'll always be around
You are the apple of my eye
Forever you'll be in my heart
